    AiXist was officially founded in 2024. AiXist’s mission is to collaborate, educate, and advocate towards achieving a global treaty mitigating AI & existential risks. AiXist (also referred to as “the organization”) respects the privacy of its constituents and in order to do so it provides this privacy policy and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected.   1. Collection of Information
    • If you have participated in one of AiXist’s events, enrolled in an academic course, filled out a survey or signed a petition, the organization collects personal information such as names, e-mail addresses and profession. This data is never released to a third party. If you have signed a public petition, relevant information you provided was added to the petition and is publicly available, but your contact information is not shared.
    • When you visit our website, the data listed in this article is collected and processed to ensure a smooth connection and a good experience for future users on AiXist’s website. Furthermore, the data stored serves AiXist to evaluate system security and stability along with administrative purposes for the organization to continuously improve its website and services. The browser you use automatically sends information to the servers of the website and temporarily stores it in a log file. The following information is recorded without your intervention and stored for 14 days until it is automatically deleted:
      • IP address of the requesting computer;
      • Date and time of access;
      • Name and URL of retrieved file;
      • Website from which the access was made;
      • Browser being used.
    • If you have signed up for AiXist’s newsletter, your name and e-mail address will be used by us to send you a newsletter. Furthermore, that information is kept on MailChimp. The subscription to the newsletter can be cancelled by the user at any time through a corresponding link in every newsletter or by contacting info@aixist.org.
    • If you contact AiXist via e-mail or through contact inquiries forms, your e-mail, name and other relevant information you share will be stored. The data will only be used to process your enquiry.
    • AiXist uses social plug-ins from the social networks Facebook, X, Instagram and LinkedIn. Responsibility for data protection-compliant operation must be guaranteed by the respective providers.     • AiXist uses cookies on its website, which are small files that your browser automatically creates and that are stored on your device when you visit AiXist’s website. Many web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies. Please note that if you choose to remove or reject browser cookies, this could affect the functionality of the website in your browser.
    • AiXist uses Google Analytics, which is a web analysis service of Google Inc. These tracking measures have the goal to statistically record the use of the website and to evaluate it for the purpose of optimizing it. The information that are transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there are the browser type/version used, the operation of system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer and the time of the server request. This information is then used to evaluate how the website is being used, to compile reports on the website activities and to provide further services associated with the use of the website.     • Online credit card donations are processed through a third-party service provider and AiXist does not retain, store, sell or share any of your credit card, payment-related, contact, or other personal information.
    • The organization does not sell names or other personal information about its members and subscribers to mass marketers or any other entity and does not engage in exchanges for such information. The organization does not share donor information with other organizations.
    • Your personal data will not be passed on to a third party, unless specified by law.
  2. You have the right to:
    • Revoke your consent to AiXist at any time, in accordance with GDPR Art. 7, p. 3. By revoking your consent, AiXist is no longer allowed to continue processing your data;
    • Request information about the personal data that is being processed by AiXist, in accordance with GDPR Art. 15;
    • Demand without delay the correction of incorrect or completion of your personal data stored by the organization, in accordance with GDPR Art. 16;
    • Request the deletion of your personal data stored with the organization, in accordance with GDPR Art. 17. This does not apply if the processing is necessary to exercise the right to freedom of expression and information, to fulfil a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or to assert, exercise or defend legal claims;
    • Restrict the processing of your personal data if you dispute the accuracy of the data, in accordance with GDPR Art. 18;
    • Receive your personal data that you have provided to the organization, in accordance with GDPR Art. 20;
    • Object to the processing of your personal data pursuant to GDPR Art. 21, provided that the reasons for this arise from your situation or that the objection is directed against directed advertising.
    • Complain to a supervisory authority pursuant to GDPR Art. 77.
  3. Changes to our Privacy Policy
    • AiXist reviews its privacy policy at least once a year, and this policy is therefore subject to change. All changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the website aixist.org and by changing the date of the update at the top of this page. Be sure to return to this page regularly to ensure that you are familiar with the updated version of our privacy policy.
